Ghost Girl—New Edition

One Girl, Two Worlds, 17 Ghosts—
What if a 12-year-old could reinvent her family and then lead it into the future?

FORT MYERS, FL—Just in time for Halloween, Fort Myers resident Patti M. Walsh announces the publication of an illustrated edition of Ghost Girl. The middle-grade contemporary novel is infused with magical realism, ghosts, and Celtic mythology. The new edition will be available October 28, 2025, as a paperback or e-book at PattiMWalsh.com, IngramSpark, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and select independent bookstores.

Ghost Girl is the first book in the “Companion Moon” series. The 2025 edition features illustrations by William E. Green III, who also illustrated Hounded, the second book in the series.

Named Best Children’s Fiction in 2023 by American Book Fest and a Silver Medal winner in the 2023 Florida Writers Association’s Royal Palm Literary Award, Ghost Girl tells the story of a 12-year-old misfit who is lonely, angry, and confused. She is sent to live with relatives, who homeschool her in a haunted house. There, ancestral ghosts befriend her and guide her on a mystical voyage to the Celtic Otherworld.

According to George C. Gibson, Ph.D., Author of Wake Rites: The Ancient Irish Rituals of Finnegans Wake, “Young readers will find Ghost Girl a relevant and positive guide for their own lives. Older readers will find Ghost Girl an attractive introduction to the deep and profound mysteries and spiritual precepts of the Irish Celtic tradition.”

Book signings will be held in conjunction with the Alliance for the Arts Wednesday Night Market, October 29, 2025. The Alliance is located at 10091 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers, Florida 33919.
